Is Now The Time To Buy’s?

Before I begin let me say that I do not own one, I never have. I see little value  in them besides the fact that they are short and easy to remember. To this day I remain skeptical, but am impressed at the market and value whether it be real or not for these names.

Last year when the DJIA was not under 8,000 it seemed that all you heard about was the's. A few years earlier on November 2, 2007  a Friday at 2:01 GMT all were registered. From this time on there was massive speculation and people where hording these names like they were next gold. It was about this time when in school we learned about the Tulip Bulb Bubble in the Dutch Netherlands, the English South Sea Company and the Mississippi Bubble in France.'s turned out to be a lot like tulip bulbs, they were not worth the absurd amounts people were paying for them. I think for a time the minimum resale value for any was over $40 on the domain forums. (Correct me if I am wrong please) But, like my dad always says what must come up must go down. As the economy slumped and the buyers disappeared sales hit all time lows.

Today if you look on Namepros or eBay and search for you can find names for under $10.00. eBay auctions were closing at around $6.00 for an As the economy gets better real estate will pick back up and people will again speculate on real estate property. Will they speculate on domains again?

I would bet Yes. It is bound to happen when you have something of limited supply. My question to my readers and myself is should we buy's now? It is the age old theory that is true for stocks and other investments will there be someone willing to pay me more than what I paid for it?  I think that the buyers will return for the's. Sales might not return to past highs but they will be higher than registration fees.

I do not see much value in's but others seem to, should I buy something I believe has little value but will be able to turn me a nice profit? If I think that the values will go up and I will be able to sell them within a year for around double the price is it worth it? What do you think?

Do you own any's and what do you think of their value long term?

Well, this is my first post here ;)
I don´t own 4 LLLL´s dotcom too for now but being sincere, I am looking how they are going.
At Dynadot´s Expired Marketplace as an example given, you can catch many 4 LLLL´s. Even pronouncible ones like that one, I don´t know what the final price was:
I would never bet on not pronouncible ones, at least I know that the majority would say “forget about to catch a pronouncible 4 LLLL dotcom”, sometimes that small door opens itself, just be in the right market at the right time.
The next time I see a “” I will try to catch it for sure.
    Cheers, Chris :)

What a massive bubble blow was… unbelievable. I’ve only got around 20 and at that amount, I can afford to renew which I -am- doing.

I think it’ll be years before prices rise again to the bubble-level…

Yes, I think they will go up in price. I even think that some should be worth more than Because, some you can pronounce and they are easy to remember. I have a few that are great. For example,,,,,…plus I have which is a symbol in the stock exchange.

I think it’s worth buying some LLLL at these low prices, but make sure you have a reason to buy them, not just any LLLL. There are many crappy ones for sale in the forums, make sure they are pronouncable, or have a good mix of letters that you can see some potential value in. Owning say 5, 10 or 20 for investment probably isn’t bad. They are short .com’s and even 450k of them is low supply considering the world population.

Thanks everyone for reading, I think that prices might go up and I am seriously thinking about buying a few soon. Only like a small set just to see if the market for them goes up.

I would bet that’s value will grow up again. Bad quality too. Remember non-premium letters in US are premium in China, (Q,X,W) and I hope to get a nice profit for any quality’s
