Are you really just a teenager? You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders and are heading in the right direction. Good luck and can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

Getting serious about domaining is crucial for success. Setting goals and actually writing them down has been a huge help. Keep up the good work.

Hi Brian,
Great post. You've made some great points about selling off vs. letting your domains drop. I was going to let a bunch of my domains drop but now I'm rethinking it!

Just as you commented on Domain Name Portfolio's comment, I too recently sold one my domain names for a decent price and it was one of the first domains I bought when I first started! That will cover domain registration for quite a few domains which helps a lot!

I look forward to reading more from you...

Thanks for reading, lately I have even sold a few names that I bought when I fist started that would have been hard to give away for $20.

Great post, you make some really good points and I agree - planning ahead and being more careful / calculated with ones domains is a must.

Also, the point about selling off domains to cover cost of renewals on better names - that's something I think many domainers forget to do. It's evident from the number of drops and the qualities amongst them - some of the drops get bid up to thousands of dollars at places like Snap / NameJet. It goes to show, if the previous owner tried then he could have got a decent sale rather than let it drop.
