How to Add an Adsense Compliant Privacy Policy to Your Site

Did you know that Google Adsense and many other ad publishers require that if  display their ads you must have a privacy of you run the risk of being kicked out of the program?

This is from Google Adsense Terms of Service;

"You must have and abide by an appropriate privacy policy that clearly discloses that third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your user’s browser, or using web beacons to collect information, in the course of ads being served on your website. Your privacy policy should also include information about user options for cookie management."

This week I went around to all of my sites that have adsense and added this simple page to the sites. It really is not worth getting kicked out by google over something that you can do right now in a few seconds. While I was browsing the web I found this great tool that does all of the work for you. All you have to do is enter your domain name and check a few boxes depending on your site and you get the whole policy created for you.

After I added the page I just put a link in the footer that says Privacy Policy. It took five minuets for each site and now I do not have to worry about getting an email from Google telling me why I am no longer a member of the adsense program. I hope you find this tool useful.

In other news I qualified for the state cross country meet yesterday!

    I just built one webpage with a generic privacy policy on it, and put a link to that page on all my websites. Why create a page for each site?
