This week some really nice product domain sold listed on the DNJournal weekly charts. In recent weeks I have noticed quite a few product domain selling in the .Com supporting cast area for $1,000 to $5,000. Most are two word generic names but I wanted to take a look at their stats.
Domain Sales   Price   Searches   Exact   CPC    Estibot    $5,000    8,100    1,900    $1.39    $9,000    $4,000   12,100    1,900    $1.73    $5,200    $2,750    3,600    590    $0.77    $3,600    $5,000    4,400    880    $0.55    $5,100    $2,600    9,900    5,400    $1.32    $4,500    $4,000    2,400    720    $2.37    $6,400    $3,000    164,700    4,300    $2.46    $13,000    $2,800    1,000    140    $1.80    $2,900    $5,000    4,400    880    $0.80    $1,100    $2,188    -     -     -     - $3,188    550,000    40,000    $3.49    $3,300

I think this data is interesting the CPC and Searches were lower than I thought they would be. I mean you can pick up names with similar stats on forms and of drops all the time. I am always keeping my eyes open for names like these and trying to sell them to end users. You can buy names like these for $50 to $500 you just have to look.

I have been keeping a little tab on some .net products domains as well. I have a few more to add that have sold recently, but I started this list a little over a month ago at DotWeekly.

Here is the link if you wish to see some .net products domains to use as a guide to the above .com’s

In my experience, product and service-oriented domains are the most liquid class of domain name in existence. You can easily justify your sale price by citing based on how much each instance of the product or service costs (e.g. “you can recoup the cost of by selling merely 3 rafts”). Kind of like how the U.S. dollar used to function — backed by its equivalent in gold within the U.S. Treasury.

@Josh Great point that is exactly why I like them so much, also people who visit them are often looking to buy the exact item so they offer great development potential.
