Great recommendation! I view twitter as a type of e-mail newsletter without the complexity.

Great post Brian. People sometimes underestimate the value of having targeted followers on twitter and building site traffic that way.

Good stuff.

Great post! Nice non-spammy approach to building a targeted list of followers and slowly introducing them to a site.

If you have the time, you might want to consider offering this as a standalone consulting service. Might be a number of domainers who don't have the time / experience to do it right and who would be interested in outsourcing to a domainer who understands twitter and won't just blast out a bunch of spammy tweets.

Excellent post. These are great strategies, and I will be be using them for my next dev project. I would add one other thing - to use analytics available through url shorteners like bit.ly and others. The information available through these services can be quite useful.

Awesome post, that's the same strategy I've been doing with all major developments lately.

If you are developing a GEO domain, you can use TwitterLocal or some other application that targets users by their location, it helps with getting the people who regularly use twitter to notice your site.

I use "Reading blah blah blah http://bit.ly/0000" for my tweets, it seems less commercial and usually gets a good amount of clicks.

Good luck Brian!
