As we all know, GoDaddy is a pain to use. Whether its because of the laggy interface, or the 1000's of offers they bombard you with, it is terrible. But time & time again, domainers keep using them, for two reasons.

-They are cheap. End of story.
-End users like them. Probably because of they're TV commercials, but either way, end users are typically more comfortable dealing with GoDaddy, because they have heard of them.

Heres a quick little guide that will help you register names quickly & easily with GoDaddy :-)

  1. Login To Your GoDaddy Account
-This will save you some time at the end of checking out
  2. Find Your Million Dollar Domain Name ;)
  3. Stop! You've Found A Great Name!
-If you like the other available names, by all means, get them. But don't let this screen fool you.
  4. Don't Let GoDaddy's Newest Trick Get You!
-They recently changed the default registration period to 5 years, instead of 2. So be sure to fix that.
  5. Set Your NameServers! (optional)
-If you know what your going to do with your new domain name (such as park/ develop), go ahead and set your NameServers. This will save you alot of time in the future.

    GoDaddy sneaks in auto-renewal.

Right under “Set Your NameServers! (optional)”
will be a line telling you your domain will be auto-renewed.

If you don’t want it auto-renewed, click the link that says
“Change renewal status” or something like that.

If you have lots of domains with GoDaddy. it’s a good idea to once in a while use the Advanced Search function in the GoDaddy control panel and search for domains that have auto-renew status.

This will avoid unnecessary surprise later on.

  6. Super Saver!
-This next step will save you from all of the pointless addons to your domain names.
  7. Double Check Everything!
-Make sure you are buying your new domain name for the correct # of years.
-Also be sure you spelled your domain name right!
  8. Use A Coupon Code!
-Save yourself some money! Here are some great codes provided by one of our readers!
    ZINE1 - 10% off order
    ZINE2 - $5 off any $30+ purchase
    ZINE3 - $7.49 ".coms"
    ZINE25 - $25 off a purchase of $100+

Hopefully this guide will save you some time!
If you have another time saving tip, feel free to leave a comment, & Ill add it to the post :)

    Hi,

I’d like to add this to your quick GoDaddy method.

    GoDaddy sneaks in auto-renewal.

Right under #5 “Set Your NameServers! (optional)”
will be a line telling you your domain will be auto-renewed.

If you don’t want it auto-renewed .click the link that says
“Change renewal status” or something like that.

If you have lots of domains with GoDaddy. it’s a good idea to once in a while use the Advanced Search function in the GoDaddy control panel and search for domains that have auto-renew status.

This will avoid unnecessary surprise later on.

Since you are talking about godaddy, I’ll also provide several recent discoveries for Godaddy coupon codes. I am an Email Marketing Consultant, and these godaddy coupons come in very handy when purchasing or renewing a domain name. Use Godaddy promo code ZINE3 for $7.49 .com domains and renewals. I save about $20 every time I purchase from godaddy.com. When I buy at least five domain names, I also get free private registration when I use ZINE3. For other Godaddy coupons, use ZINE1 for 10% off, ZINE2 for $5 off any $30+ purchase, and ZINE25 for $25 off any purchase of $100 or more, like hosting plans. These promo codes are current, working, and do not expire. Hope these Godaddy.com coupons save as much dough for the other blog readers as they have for my company. Take it easy!

Thanks for the codes Amada :-)
I’ll add them to the post!
