Building a Mini Minisite using Whypark for SEO and Traffic

As many of you know, I am in the process of building out my first e commerce store on and one of my readers let me know that was for sale on namepros for a couple of bucks.

I bought the name and I planed to build it out into a very small minisite that would drive search engine value and also some traffic by trying to rank for long tail terms.

I decided to try building out the site using WhyPark to try out the custom pages. I did this for a few reasons.

First, I like the ability to easily set up the site. I did not need a fancy wordpress install or theme with all of the extra features that I love having on some of my other sites.  The whole process took about 5 minutes to set up. I can easily add my analytic settings and content which is all this site needed. Its a simple template but it works with the site.

Secondly, the site will be hosted at another place than my spy pens site. I have a shared hosting plan at hostgator and google might get suspicious if two sites hosted on the same account are passing links back and fourth.

Lastly, I am going to try out some of the domian apps on the site like the twitter and youtube apps to try and add some content. The site will be a static site that I do not plan on updating often, but the twitter and youtube videos might help.

I added four unique articles and put a banner on it to my site. I also added some links to my main site. I am going to try and do a little link building but just hope that the site drives a few visitors.

Even if the site only sends a few visitors a month they will be very valuable because of how targeted they are. And its not all about the new visitors it should also help with seo.

I really liked using whypark to build out the name and found the process so simple. I am going to add some apps to my mini spy pen minisite and I will keep you updated on how my mini minisite goes!

    Hey Brian,
Great post, I should try using why park too, for the SEO/indexing purposes alone. I dont think Bodis parking gets you indexed at all and thats where all my sites sit currently. Keep us updated on this. I am planning on building out a few suits and was going to link them to eachother since they are very similar products. You mention Google probably wouldnt like that. How would you work that with host gator to avoid a penalty from the big G? This is important

    Hi Brian,

Is this a custom built e-store or are you using amazon/ebay etc.?

That looks reaaly good, is the .net on WhyPark? I wasn’t aware that they offered this too.
Take a look at my site I am getting around 800 visitors per day and fairly good clicks but I know the potential has to better with that volume. Willing to do a joint venture with someone who can see the potential.
