Cross Country has just started back up at school and it is always fun to see who will show up for the first few practices. Almost all of the runners have not been running at all over the summer and thus are in no shape to run miles in the miserable South Florida heat. And they should not expect to be able to come out with no training and run!

The same principle is true with domains and earning money online, you have to put the time in. There is no path to overnight millions. Recently, I have been feeling the rewards for some time I put in on a newer site of mine NameCheap Coupon Codes with a great month of PPC, and more importantly affiliate programs.

With the craziness of the start of my Junior year of high school over I am now back to putting more time into my sites and I am looking to expand. I have my eyes on a few names that I think are great values right now, and I have 3 or 4 sites in the works right now. Its going to be fun, but remember you have to be patient and put the time in!

When I am looking to hand registering a keyword or product domain, I look at a few things including searches per month on Google, cost per click, number of advertisers and I search on eBays completed listings.

eBay Completed Listings

eBay's completed listings search allows you to see the closed listing for the kewyords you enter. You can then view all of the items selling prices, number of bidders, and how often the items are selling.

This way I can see how popular an item is and how much people are willing to pay for them. It is a great way to look at the market for a product. As an added bonus you can look at the titles and see the keywords people are using to search for the items.

So try it out for yourself all you need is an ebay account and an item to search for, Try it Here

If anyone wants a few product domains this works great for I have a few for sale for a wonderful price that would do great with eBay or Amazon ads.

Quick Enduser Sales Tips

Methods of Contact

1. Email This is the number one option for small names and it requires the least amount of time

If the name is a small name that I think will not sell for much I will do this first because it takes the least amount of time. Make sure your email address is clean and professional. Keep the subject simple!

2. Call Great when trying to sell an name quickly, I like to call after hours and leave a voicemail telling them to be expecting an email, this way to read it

Sometimes after I email a person or before I will call to ask if they got my email or if I can send them an email. This way the are expecting an email and are going to read it.

3. Fax the best easiest way to know they read your letter you can now send fax from emails with sites like efax.com

Works better for mid rage domain sales, they read faxes that they get so you know your name will be looked at.

4. Snail Mail Send Signature Mail to make sure they read it this takes lots of time and effort.

I have not done any snail mail because of the cost and time do you think it is worth it?

Today I went out to get my mail after my and along with lost of letters from colleges, (I must get 5 letters and 10 emails every day from Universities) There was an official looking envelope with the security ink on the inside. It looked like the envelope my various bank statements come in.

The outside had a nice logo that stated Liberty Names of America and below it said Personal and Confidential. It looked really official.I though I may have a problem with one of my names Trade Mark of something.

After opening it I found a letter telling me this domain I registered a year ago is almost due for renewal and they wanted me to renew it with them. The only problem is their prices.

$29.00 for 1 year, $49.00 for 2 years and I could get the .net .org, .info. and .biz for an extra 49.00 for 2 years.

These prices are horrible and no experienced domainer would ever renew with them but because it looks so official and looks like a bill I would guess that they get lots of people who own one domain and they renew it with them. After reading down in smaller print they say in bold "This notice is not a bill."

Their website is LNOA.com and they even send a return envelope to send your money in with. How convenient.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and hopefully I will save some people some money one day.

Has anyone else received these letters? What do you think of their business plan?

I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I make a fair amount of money selling items on eBay every month. This is how I first started domaining. Awhile ago I put up a small wordpress site to showcase some of my items that I sold on eBay. I did not see any result sand just lost interest after awhile. The site was indexed in google for a couple keywords and it started to get just a few visitors every day. I am in the ebay affiliate network and I put up some ads on the pages that were getting traffic form the big G.

The site only gets 1-7 visitors every day but I make on average $5 a month from Ebay Partner Network. This is not huge but this is a site that I do no work on and never promote. It took less the 10 minutes to set up and now makes me $60 a year. If I put a little more effort into the site I know it could make more. Right now the design looks horrible and there is little content. I plan on creating and updating a few of my site soon and optimising them for earnings.

If you have a site that get minimal traffic try Ebay partner network or another ad network. All it takes is a few sites to be earning 100's a month. Which one of you would not like to be handed a 100 bill every month.

I have had great results using wordpress and just writing short keyword rich articles. This is a great part time solution to your non earning parked or vacant domains.

Take an hour one day and put up a small site on your vacant domains and you will thank yourself later when it comes time to renew all of your domains or hosting.

Does anyone have any stories like this to share?

It seems that all to often domain name buyers approach the domain name valuation process very haphazardly. Many domainers and small business owners alike will purchase a domain name based on gut feeling alone (not always a bad thing) without bothering to try and justify their emotional buying decision with some solid numbers. Here are some tips for attempting to arrive at a value for generic keyword domains using some popular keyword domain metrics.

What is a Keyword Domain Name?

I run a domain name membership site and one of the most important things that I try to stress for people using our tools is the importance of keyword domain names. What exactly is a keyword domain name? I like to separate keyword domain names into 2 different categories: exact match keyword only and keyword rich.

Exact match keyword only domain names are domain names that match exactly to keywords that have monthly search traffic in Google. Exact match keyword only domain names contain the keyword only and may not contain any other additional words or characters.

Keyword rich domain names contain keywords that have monthly search engine traffic in Google but they also may have additional words or characters in the domain name.

For example, an exact match keyword only domain name for the keyword phrase "online credit card" is onlinecreditcard.com while the domain name onlinecreditcardcenter.com is a keyword rich domain name.

Metrics to Use When Evaluating Keyword Domains

For all intents and purposes you can arrive at a pretty accurate picture of an exact match keyword only domain name's value by finding out these 3 metrics:

1. Average Monthly Google Search Volume: This metric is easy to find using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. The higher the number the more valuable the domain name. If the keyword phrase you enter in has less than 500 exact match searches then the CPC (Cost Per Click) should be rather high to justify any type of substantial price above registration fee for the domain name.

2. Average Keyword CPC: This metric is also easy to find using the above mentioned free Google tool. Obviously, the higher the CPC the more valuable the domain name. While it is not uncommon to see CPC numbers above $10 or even $20 for money keyword phrases like "student loans", "life insurance", and "debt consolidation" you can consider any CPC over $1 quite respectable.

3. User Intent: The first 2 metrics are not things that will shock the sneakers off of most domainers as they are for the most part no brainers. However, it is easy to overlook this 3rd more qualitative metric. The more user intent (or maybe better phrased "buying intent") that a keyword phrase has then the more valuable the domain name is that matches that keyword phrase. For example, the keyword phrase "buy vitamins" has much better user intent than the keyword phrase "daily vitamins" because it is much more likely that the person who types in "buy vitamins" is motivated to buy vitamins online and making a purchase decision than someone who just types in "daily vitamins" and maybe is more likely to just be looking for vitamin information and may or may not be looking to purchase vitamins online.

Finding Great Keyword Domain Names

Now that you know some of the important metric to consider when looking for keyword domain names the most important thing to remember is to actually do the research necessary for success and then pull the trigger when you find the right domain names.

Take advantage of tools like the aforementioned Google keyword tool, our type-in traffic finder tool that helps you find exact match keyword domain names using real time data from Google, and other tools like the keyword domain repository that hold a database of exact match keyword only domain names available to hand register.

Get started doing your homework and find some great keyword domain names today!
