Gangsters.com sold on eBay on Sep 21, 2009 10:00:00 PDT for $16,100. The auction had 30 bids and was one of the most watched auctions in the domain category on ebay. This is one of the better names I have seen on eBay in a long time. I think that it sold for a great price. The buyer got a great deal. I am interested to see who bought the domain, will it be an enduser with a new online game, or just another parked domain?

Gangsters.com is up for sale on the online auction site eBay.com. It is not everyday that you see great domain like this on eBay. Right now the bidding is up to $5,101.00 with over a week left. The last high price domain I remember being auctioned on ebay was PaintBallGuns.com.

Estibot gives Gangsters.com an estimated value of $110,000

This name has so many uses, but I believe the best one is for a large online game like mafia wars which right now has millions of players on facebook and myspace. There were 22,419,441 monthly active users for the game last month just on Facebook.

I will be keeping an eye on the domain sale and if it sells I will keep this updated.

eBay Affiliates Moving from CPA to QCP aka PPC Model

Ebay Partner Network

Earlier today eBay Partner Network (EPN) announced that they will be moving their affiliate system from CPA where they pay you commission for sales generated to a Pay per click method.But it is not the normal PPC model like Google adsense, they are calling it "Quality Click Pricing.

From eBay,

" eBay Partner Network has paid for sales and leads. With Quality Click Pricing, we will now instead pay affiliates for each click sent to an eBay site. The price paid per click will still depend on the short-term and long-term revenue of the traffic that the publisher drives to eBay, but will now also take into account the incremental value of that traffic to eBay, i.e., whether a sale happened as a direct result of the publisher’s actions."

The changes take effect October 1st , 2009.

I think this could be a really good change, if they payouts are good this might be able to compete with google adsense. This does mean no more $25 per ebay account sign up but I think overall it might be better. I know that I will be building out a few more domains to test on the new system when it comes out. I will keep you updated when the new system rolls out.

Product Keyword Domain Tip: Search eBay Completed Listings

When I am looking to hand registering a keyword or product domain, I look at a few things including searches per month on Google, cost per click, number of advertisers and I search on eBays completed listings.

eBay Completed Listings

eBay's completed listings search allows you to see the closed listing for the kewyords you enter. You can then view all of the items selling prices, number of bidders, and how often the items are selling.

This way I can see how popular an item is and how much people are willing to pay for them. It is a great way to look at the market for a product. As an added bonus you can look at the titles and see the keywords people are using to search for the items.

If anyone wants a few product domains this works great for I have a few for sale for a wonderful price that would do great with eBay or Amazon ads.

Good Changes Coming At eBay

I don't know how many of you sell names on eBay but it seems to be a good place to get rid of some names that you don't want to renew. The nice thing about ebay is that the website is well known and their are buyers always on the site. Once in a while you can even find a good name on the site. For a while you could get some LLLL.com's for under $10.00 if your into that stuff.

Over the last week I received two email from ebay that excited me. The first was an invitation the the beta testing for eBay Bucks a buyer reward program where I earn 2% back on all my purchases on ebay when I pay with paypal. They then give you the money to spend back on ebay. You can find out more Here. This will attract more shoppers and hopefully drive up prices.

Yesterday I got an email about the big changes coming at eBay very soon. Did you know they plan to take Skype public with an IPO next year? If you do not use Skype and want a great low cost phone number take a look. I will have a more detailed post later on my review. But here is a small summary of the changes coming to eBay.

The ones that really make a difference for domainers are the Buyer incentives and loyalty programs, bulk editing of listings, seller manager, resolution and the new pages. Hopefully they will encourage bidding and help drive sale up.

I sell lots of items on ebay and I think that these changes should help sellers out and make it easier to sell and buy on ebay which is what we all want. I have made thousands selling everyday on eBay, if you have some extra items around that you don't use sell them and raise some cash for a nice domain purchases.

Why not spend 10 min to make $60?

I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I make a fair amount of money selling items on eBay every month. This is how I first started domaining. Awhile ago I put up a small wordpress site to showcase some of my items that I sold on eBay. I did not see any result sand just lost interest after awhile. The site was indexed in google for a couple keywords and it started to get just a few visitors every day. I am in the ebay affiliate network and I put up some ads on the pages that were getting traffic form the big G.

The site only gets 1-7 visitors every day but I make on average $5 a month from Ebay Partner Network. This is not huge but this is a site that I do no work on and never promote. It took less the 10 minutes to set up and now makes me $60 a year. If I put a little more effort into the site I know it could make more. Right now the design looks horrible and there is little content. I plan on creating and updating a few of my site soon and optimising them for earnings.

If you have a site that get minimal traffic try Ebay partner network or another ad network. All it takes is a few sites to be earning 100's a month. Which one of you would not like to be handed a 100 bill every month.

I have had great results using wordpress and just writing short keyword rich articles. This is a great part time solution to your non earning parked or vacant domains.

Take an hour one day and put up a small site on your vacant domains and you will thank yourself later when it comes time to renew all of your domains or hosting.
