Paypal is one of the leading online payment processing programs, moving billions of dollars to different accounts every year. In the domain industry many people use paypal for smaller transition and people also pay for domain registration fees, hosting, and other services using Paypal. I personally sell items on ebay, and my ads are also paid by paypal so once in a while my account has a decent about of cash in it that I want to keep safe just like a normal bank account.

PayPal Security Key

Paypal has a great product called the paypal security key that does just that. When you go to login to paypal you enter your password and then after it the 6 digit random code the key generates. This way if your password is stolen or hacked they can still not get into your account. The key generates a new code every 60 seconds and can also be used for ebay. Now you can also have codes sent to your cell phone. The key cost $5 one time fee.

I really like my security key it keeps my money safe so I do not have to worry about my account being hacked. One issue that I have it that I do not always have my key with me.

Here is a great little tip I learned a while back that can save us all when sending and paying via Paypal. Paypal MassPay only cost 1.00 or 2% of any transaction whichever is less to send payments. From Paypal's website "Faster than a check  of your payments can electronically transfer their money to a checking account, send money to friends, or shop online."

MassPay payments can only be made with a Paypal Premier or Business Account. To send a payment via paypal mass pay all you have to do is upload a .txt document in a easy to follow format detailed below. Normal Paypal fees for premier accounts are 3% plus $0.30 (Sending money with Paypal personal account is free) so if you are sending or receiving any amount of cash via Paypal this could really help you save . The buyer is the one who has to use Mass Pay but as Sellers you get paid more when people use MassPay so encourage people to use it. Offer a small discount for MassPay and everyone wins. Here are simplified instructions on how to send a payment, the paypal website makes it seem so complicated.

1. Open up a text editor, like notepad

2. Type the paypal email [TAB] Amount [TAB] USD

3. Save the text file as anything you like and upload it to paypal

4. Your payment will be completed instantly
