Public Recongnition of .com
I just got done watching a show on TV with my little brother.
The show is called "iCarly", and it is about a teenage girl, and two of her friends that run a web show on "iCarly.com". Towards the end of their web show (which is actually part of the television show. Confusing, right?) they said something along the lines of:
"You can check all of this out at iCarly.com. But not dot net. Dot net is for loosers."
Although I don't completely agree with the fact "dot net is for loosers", it goes to show that the public views .com as the #1 tld.
This might sound kind of silly, but it got me thinking...

I remember seeing that episode. I have a little sister and she watches Nick and knows I’m a “domainer” so I ended up finding the episode and watched it.
I actually got a good laugh from it. I’m definitely down with .net… Premium keyword .net > Mediocre .com anyday!

I agree with that!
A good .net beats a bad .com any day
